It was an overall pleasant stay and would just stay in a room with aircon next time

The staff was very nice and helpful. We were able to check in earlier and use the pool straight away. They dropped us of at the Pier at our departure day. The pool area was really nice and refreshing on those hot days. There's no Power throughout the day, but you hardly notice cause you're up and about anyway and we never returned before 5pm anyway. And you're able to charge your phone at the reception. You have pool and shower towels and you get a couple bottles of water for your stay.

The mattress was unfortunately very hard and the fan in the room was so loud we weren't able to leave it on during the night. Also the water pressure in the shower was so low we couldn't wash our hair. But besides those little quirks it was good :)

I liked the location and the pool!

You’re definitely staying in the sticks if you’re in the bungalow with the fan but the fan is pretty good! But watch out for some creepy crawlers in the bathroom for sure.

Gorgeous surroundings, one of only two mid tier options on Tonsai, will probably stay again.

One of the more upscale options on Tonsai, amazing gardens and wildlife, luggage service from the beach, have stayed here 5 or so time before so feels very nostalgic/familiar.

Reception staff were not very friendly, like we were an inconvenience, no power during the day, pool is very heavily treated with chemicals, bathrooms are rough, restaurant is a myth, avoid pre paid breakfast.

No bar or food by the pool and the restaurant wasn't open very often in the afternoon, so we hade to go and get shakes, drinks and food at a different place.

Good

The staff was friendly, allowed us to check in early since the room was ready. AC worked well when the power is on. Nice balcony view and pool was good.

A litter farther of a walk to the climbing and beach, the AC was only on from 17:00-10 am then it shuts off during the day so no way to go back to the room to cool off. Bed was a bit hard.

Nice, relaxing resort- albeit rustic and no frills.

The pool was great. Nice resort.

Given the price we paid I thought this would be less rustic. Ants came into the bathroom and got all over our toothbrushes. Bed was rock hard and uncomfortable. Bungalow showed signs of wear and tear like weak spots in the flooring and evidence of termite dust. Given the location, I understand that maintenance and upkeep could be challenging, so I’m not knocking for that. Just feel that it’s a little overpriced for what you get.

good for the price...if you get upgraded!!

For the price and after our upgrade I think it was a pretty good stay, make sure you stay in the buildings overlooking the pool. the rooms are modern but still a little tired but you get a fridge, coffee making facilities and towels, soaps and decent air con. the pool was amazing nice and clean and a great place to chill out for the day, id say this is one of the better places to stay in tonsai with a decent price tag.

our first room was a bungalow, and we had to be moved as it was nothing but vile, we had to ask for the room to be cleaned on arrived as it hadn't before we were given they key, dirt in the bathroom, bugs all over the floor and walls, cobwebs and dirty windows...just awful. Hard beds, dirty towels... no soaps... no beach towels. after moving... to our free upgrade...... we were given a much smaller room in the concrete block overlooking the pool, this was much better but still quite dirty, we found a dead cockroach in the kettle which was pretty grim. no wifi in the rooms is a real pain and something so easy they could add to the resort.

Superb hideaway

Location for a chill out, get away. Great pools. Great room I stayed Any issue I had was fixed. That impressed be enormously. The staff are fantastic. If I make it to Thailand again I will stay again .

Enjoyed the pool and the friendly staff

We really enjoyed our stay at the Dream Valley Resort. We came for a rock climbing trip and therefore stayed in Tonsai. We liked that proximity in Tonsai village and the short walk to the beach. The pool got a lot of shade and we enjoyed relaxing around it when it was too hot to climb. Our room was very nice and we enjoyed the air conditioning in the morning and at night. The staff was very friendly and responded quickly to our needs.

The beds are firm, but that seems to be the case in all of Thailand. We did not get sick while in Tonsai like the rest of our friends, but beware of this strong possibility in Tonsai village-stay clear of the shakes and iced drinks! There is no electricity from 10am-5pm, which didn't bother us but may be a necessity for other people. Another thing we learned about staying in Tonsai village is that you have to go up and down a bamboo ladder to get over the fence to the beach. We did it with our packs on and then learned later that you can arrange for a pick up by the boats.

Perfect Stay in Tonsai

Absolutely loved our stay at Dream Valley! It was nestled in the middle of Tonsai, very quiet & super chill. The pool was awesome and the grounds were beautiful. WiFi worked pretty well. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfy. Staff was very nice and helpful.

We stayed in one of the bungalows which was clean and large. The only issue was that there were cracks in the floor/wall and bugs came in. Both nights we came back to the room to find cockroaches hanging out, which really isn’t a big deal, being that your in the jungle and they are everywhere but we just didn’t want to sleep with them. We told the staff and they switched us to a room in one of the buildings by the pool. The new room was great and actually stayed much cooler during the day than the other (there is no power on Tonsai form 10am-5pm each day). We will definitely stay here again but will opt for one of the regular rooms versus the bungalow.

awesome climbing vacation spot!!

pool was nice, staff super friendly and helpful.

wasn't as close to the beach, but that's because some mega corporation bought the land and walled it off from everyone else and didn't even use it! they kicked all the small businesses off and stuck them back in the jungle. Don't patron the freedom bar or tonsai beach resort!

Breakfast spread was fine

The majority of standard rooms are located directly by the loudest street on the island and we were unable to sleep. Literally no sleep. It was like having a live band playing in your bedroom until 2am. Customer service was not interested in trying to make guests happy. Manager was rude and dismissive to ourselves and also several other guests. Do not pay money to stay here as you will get NO sleep.

Swimming pool a bit dirty (probably due to low season), lack of electricity (however, it is normal for Tonsai).

Good place for chill and close to nature experience

Hotel is located almost in the jungle so it is very quiet and makes you feel the nature, can easy meet monkeys running on the street Very nice swimming pool Tonsai Beach is a very small place, awesome for chill and relax, went there in mid Apr and it was almost empty, locals are laid back, a lot of Jamaican style pubs, 20min walk through a little forest by the coast to Railay Beach Great Thai food on Tonsai Beach

Power cut 10am till 5pm on Tonsai Beach We stayed in a small bungalow which was quite old, bathroom not clean, no fridge, Wi-Fi signal did not reach bungalow so had to stay by the swimming pool if wanted to use the Internet - next time would pay more for a better room in a modern and clean part of the hotel close to the swimming pool Close to the jungle so do not be surprised if you find ants, beetles and gecko in your room Would not recommend Tonsai Beach for clean and tidy type of people

Swimming pool area is really nice.

Swimming pool area is really nice. Surrounding is pleasant and calm. Near of resort perfect family restaurant with best food I have ever eaten with good prices.

Check -in. We ordered room with breakfast so we were supposed to pay higher price but we did't obtain any breakfast. Despite we had to pay little bit more. Bathroom was stinky. Resort is badly reachable from Railay Beach During low tide it is ok but when is sea level higher you have to go through rough terrain. I am not sure about if it is good idea visit this resort during low season they are not prepared for it!. In high season they will provide probably better services.
